Welcome Twanna!

Join us is welcoming Twanna Harris to Matlock! Twanna is our new Brand Group Director. Twanna will be leading our Brand team. We asked Twanna a few questions about herself and here’s what she had to say:

Spanish moss.

What is your favorite time (season) of the year and why? Summer, as I love the beach.

What’s the #1 played song on your iPod or music player of choice? No, favorite song comes to mind, but I love the NeoSoul channel.

If you could have any super power what would it be? I would definitely love to read minds.

If you could travel back in time, what advice would you give your younger self? Life is a marathon, not a destination, so enjoy the sights and sounds along the way.

What’s your favorite book and quote? I’m a bigger fan of magazines, and Fast Company is my favorite!

My favorite quote is “No success in the world is worth failure in the home.”

Welcome back Mariah!

Join us in welcoming Mariah back to Matlock! Mariah Jester was our summer Account Planning Intern and has now joined the Matlock family as a Project Coordinator on our 100 Black Men of America, Inc. and Publix accounts. We asked Mariah a few questions about herself and here’s what she had to say:

You’re stuck on a desert island, what three things would you make sure to have? I would bring a knife, water filter, and a solar electric generator.

If you could live on any planet which one would you pick? I would choose Neptune, because it the furthest planet from the sun in the solar system. I favor this particular planet because of its unique royal blue color.

When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a police officer, I thought their uniforms were pretty cool.

What’s the #1 played song on your iPod or music player of choice? Lana Del Rey- Young and Beautiful

If you could have any super power, which one would you want and why? I would like to have the super power to heal because not only will have the power to get rid of minor injuries but I could also heal and ease the pain from those suffering from life threatening illnesses.

What is your favorite time (season) of the year and why? My favorite time of year is winter, I love the cold cuddling weather and because the holidays, in which I can spend some quality time with my family.

Reports To:                        President

Location:                            This position is NYC based

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Remotely supports President with administrative needs as appropriate (maintains calendar, drafts correspondence, maintains files, arranges travel, etc…).
  • Facilitates communication between NYC office, Atlanta office, and remote resources.
  • Professionally represents the company and President as delegated in external in-person and/or telephone inquiries.
  • Participates in meetings as requested and generates conference reports.
  • Conducts online research on specific topics as directed.
  • Assists in development of proposals, recommendations, and Client presentations.
  • Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the President, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determines appropriate course of action, referral, or response.
  • Serves as Account Coordinator on Reputation based projects/Clients as assigned.
  • Participates in Agency Social Media Committee.
  • Work together with Assistant Account Planner to support planning innovation, aiding in coordination of new ventures & strategic investments for future.
  • Other projects as assigned by President.

Professionalism

  • Position involves exposure to sensitive information which will necessitate keeping information in confidence as well as considerable use of diplomacy, discretion, problem recognition and problem solving.
  • Demonstrates strong time management and organizational skills, detail oriented.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrates a “quick study” intellect, capable of comprehending and implementing processes and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and positive “can do” attitude.
  • Demonstrates ability to multi-task and handle stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player who applies learnings to positively impact the agency.

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university (Public Relations/Communications focus is desirable).
  • 1-3 years PR experience is desirable (may include internships).
