ATLANTA—Matlock Advertising & Public Relations announces today the promotion of Kirstin Popper, Vice President, Production and Interactive Services to Senior Vice President, General Manager.

The General Manager (GM) will supervise the processes and profitability of the Agency. Popper will act as a versatile agency principal that participates in client relationships from their inception, beginning with defining the scope of work and negotiating contracts and continuing to participate throughout the relationship, ensuring agency accountability on all deliverables. The GM is also fundamental in brokering agency partnerships and alliances.

Popper brings more than 15 year of advertising experience to the role, having worked not only at agencies like Blue Sky and Cole Henderson Drake, but also at corporations like Belk. Her diverse background of governing creative, production, account service and even public relations naturally made her a candidate when agency leadership considered filling the position internally.

“Over the last seven years Kirstin Popper has made herself an invaluable player at Matlock. The function of General Manager has been unfulfilled for a while and she has certainly stepped up to fill in the gaps as needed,” says CEO and owner Kent Matlock.

Popper is a leader in the community, having served on the board of the Atlanta Ad Club and as President of the former Advertising Production Association of Atlanta. She has also proven herself to be a thought leader in the agency, establishing protocols that ensure the delivery of our collective best to each of our clients. And in taking on more direct client interface recently, while working harmoniously with every department, she demonstrated her ability to navigate and coordinate the many facets of agency life.

Don Webster, SVP, Controller says, “Kirstin Popper has exhibited all the necessary skills to be effective in the role of General Manager. She truly is the perfect person for the job. And I look forward to working more closely with her.

Popper says of the promotion, “I am pleased to accept the challenge of SVP, General Manager at Matlock. I hope to make a seamless transition into a role so vital to agency success.”
